Leith D. Pengue, died Friday, July 20, 2012 surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. Leith was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on September 18, 1920. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Marcy L. Pengue, and daughter, Alix P. Buckley.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and served on many boards and committees for both the church and school. She was also a volunteer librarian in the Sacred Heart School Library for many years.
She was an active member in the following organizations: the Savannah Area Military Officers' Association, the Spouses' Auxiliary, the Hunter Spouses' Club, the Huntingdon Club, and several bridge clubs.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed attending classes, book reviews, and lectures at the Learning Center for Senior Citizens.
She enjoyed line dancing for many years and loved taking her daily walks.
Leith is survived by her children: Patricia Leith Camacho, M. Louis Pengue Dianne, and Laurie Kay Pengue. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Kellie Camacho Warnick Robert, Christopher Camacho Melissa, and Aaron Solomon, as well as her great-grandchildren: Isabella, Elana, Gabriella Warnick, and Ariana and Adalayde Camacho.
She is also survived by her niece, Leslie Barson Fred. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Charles W. Buckley, Sr., and Helen Bennett Buckley, her sister, Patricia Helen Conrad, and her brothers, Charles W. Buckley, Jr., and Jerome Buckley.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Monday, July 23, 2012 with a Christian Wake Service at 4:00 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by a private graveside service at Beaufort National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1707 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.
